"Our duty is to clean up the mess and stop the freak show that has become our government."

- Rep. Jack Franks
Governor "I am wearing a toupe or having bad hair" Blagojevich has finally been impeached by the Illinois House.
Looks like democrats are standing up to alienate this messy feast from their state. in a vote of 114 to 1!
He's a pushy man, including trying to force a children's hospital to "pay to play"
My question is, when will he finally stand up and say, alright, you caught me! According to him, he is still acting in the best interests of the people of Illinois. riiiiiiighht.

In other news....

There are more obese Americans than merely overweight Americans in this glorious land:

"Numbers posted by the National Center for Health Statistics show that more than 34 percent of Americans are obese, compared to 32.7 percent who are overweight. It said just under 6 percent are "extremely" obese."

Somali Pirates Drown with Ransom Loot!

After they got their $3M ransom, they went on to drown as the boat flipped in a storm, 3 survived of the 8 but the loot and 5 pirates went down into the depths. Looks like hunting for buried treasure / at the bottom of the sea is still a worthwhile pursuit, as piracy is alive and well on this side of the world. Am I the only one who feels sorry for these impoverished pirates who finally got their share but then a squall from the heavens took them down?

Backpacking in Dolly Sods

Yesterday I finished up a 3 day backpacking trip in Dolly Sods, West Virginia. I don't know how much there really is to write about except for a few glitches along the way that kept contributing to the experience in a way that tied us down, the coldness of the place, and the surprising fun of it all. I think I'll post again about the trip once I get access to some pictures. Some highlights of the trip were hiking out to the campsite in the freezing snowy and windy darkness, traipsing across a frozen tundra with miniature streams hidden under the snow throughout, setting up and taking shelter in a $5 tarp, seeing tracks everywhere but no wildlife, minimal to moderate hiking trips, a brilliant fog that made visibility an issue but hearing acute, and a feast to recover at the end. Stay tuned... for the uneventful eventful Dolly Sods venture.

In other news, I made a list of new years resolutions, hope you have too. here are some:
*Note: not in any particular order
- Start running again
- climb with a serious fervor
- write more
- get college credit
- don't smoke at all
- be a better friend
- do more outdoors trips

and that's it sooo far.

I hear gym memberships go up this time a year due to all the new resolutions that countless Americans make....

I opt for living more fiercely, fighting for honesty and conscious reality, deliberate actions in time that speak good for others and self, and yea....
